Many people talk about the best pizza in San Francisco… Having grown up in the east coast where there is real pizza, coming out here of course was pretty much a disappointment, until I found the following places…

#1 – ARINELL
This is my favorite slice of pizza in the entire SF Bay Area. The Mission location on Valencia. It’s a small hole in the wall pizza place… not a restaurant. The plain cheese or pepperoni are my go-to slices and they come out piping hot on a nice piece of wax paper, just like back home in PA/NYC. The sauce is on the sweeter side and is not overpowered by herbs like many pizza sauces are… This is the closest east coast pizza you’ll find in San Francisco! Read more…

#2 – PICCINO
If you’re looking for a restaurant with pizza, Piccino is the BEST. I love this restaurant so much – everything about it – but their white pizza is my ultimate favorite. The crust is thin, flavorful and crispy, and it’s cheesy and garlicky… absolute perfect white pizza ever. The dough/crust is really the star of the show, the team at Piccino really has it right. I love the pizza at The Star (Oakland). The sister restaurant is Little Star which is in the mission neighborhood of San Francisco. This place serves thin crust and deep dish pizza, both kinds are made with a cornmeal crust which is so awe-some! Very corny and crispy, buttery and the outside is toasted perfectly.
