You are here: Home/BREAKFAST/ Peet’s: Ham and Cheese Croissant
Peet’s: Ham and Cheese Croissant
I admit that Peet’s Ham and Cheese Croissant is sometimes my personal vice. It’s soooo good, but soooo bad for me. You can get these ham and cheese croissants at a bunch of places, but I always go to Peet’s. And then I microwave it on a paper towel for 27 seconds. 27 seconds, no more no less!
After the croissant is microwaved and piping hot, I eat it very swiftly… taking large bites and chewing fast to avoid the heat and hot cheese, usually finishing it in about 9-12 bites (3 across, 3 or 4 down).
This croissant is not the same if you eat it at room temperature, in fact I probably wouldn’t even get it if I didn’t have access to a microwave. Warming it up transforms it into a hot ham and cheese sandwich with a flakey buttery crust, yummers!
The remains of my wonderful, hammy, fattening, greasy croissant.
Kira – You know a croissant isn’t bad for you if you eat it slowly and enjoy it. Try warming it up in an oven and it’ll be even tastier. Although I see you’re writing from the financial district of San Francisco (old haunt of mine) and there aren’t too many ovens about, eh?
If i had an oven at work I would love to try that out but unfortunately we only have a microwave… and once I get that little greasy baby in my paws, i’m kind of impatient, so 27 seconds in the microwave is just right, hehee. I will have to go to the ferry building on a saturday to get their ham and cheese croissant… if you haven’t had it, it’s AMAZING! One of the vendors at the farmers market brings them every weekend… black forest ham and gruyere *drools*.
