So you want to take your food photos to the next level?! You’ve come to the right place. If you want to get started with photography (of any kind), here’s a list of the professional equipment I personally use and recommend.
A little about me, I’ve been a professional photographer in the SF Bay Area for the past 10 years. My work has been published in books and magazines around the world.
For the purpose of Fryhole, here’s a list of the gear I use to create this site. 🙂
SONY RX100 M2
Believe it or not, this is my primary camera for Fryhole! There aren’t enough words to explain how much I love this camera. It is perfect for the kinds of things I shoot since it is small and discreet – yet extremely powerful and packed with tons of eatures and functionality. I couldn’t recommend this camera more – it is amazing!
SanDisk 32GB SD Card
A 32GB card will do the job for just about anything – it’s quite large and will hold many photos and videos, so you don’t need to constantly erase and format. I like shooting with either a 32GB or 64GB in this camera in case I have to shoot video, then I can shoot with the confidence that I won’t run out of space!
Sony RX100 MII Case
This is the official Sony case for this camera. I love it and keep it on the camera all of the time!
Sony Battery Charger
Can you believe this camera doesn’t come with a freaking battery charger? It comes with a cable to charge it, attached to your computer… who does that? …Ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!
Screen Protectors
Protect your camera’s display with a protective screen cover… once you scratch it there’s no going back!
Seagate 2TB Slim External Hard Drive
I have a bunch of these hardrives, they are great, fast and most importantly, reliable. Over the years I’ve had almost every brand of hard drive you out there, and they all either overheated or failed… Seagate drives are great and they have been my trusted brand for the past few years.
